George L. Neibarger
August 22, 1931 – May 5, 2009
George L. Neibarger, 77, of Johnstown, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the Presbyterian Church of Johnstown, 81 S. Main Street, with Rev. Kim Alten officiating. Burial will be in Fancher Cemetery, Galena, OH.
Mr. Neibarger was born August 22, 1931 in Licking County, OH., to the late Carl W. and Florence (Hills) Neibarger. He retired from Lucent Technologies, Columbus, OH., after 31 years of service. Member of the Center Lodge #86 F & AM, where he served as secretary for many years, worthy patron of OES in 1980, member of the Presbyterian Church of Johnstown, where he was an Elder, served as clerk treasurer for the Village of Johnstown for 16 years, and was a member of the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice Neibarger of Johnstown, children, Suzan (Frank) Siegel of Gahanna, Geneva Tammy Riffe of Columbus, George M. Neibarger of Delaware, Gina P. Notrica of Huntington Beach, CA, brother, John Neibarger of Sunbury, grandchildren, Ashleigh, Cara (Jason), Jordan, Haley, Janie, Kristina, Julia, Justice, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and a beloved granddaughter, Whitney.
Family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Friday, May 8, 2009 at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Johnstown. There will be an OES and Masonic service starting at 8 PM following calling hours. In lieu of flowers you can make memorial contributions to the Presbyterian Church of Johnstown c/o the Building Fund or Central Ohio Hospice, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055.
